Hit the beach in Harrison in the morning and at lunch time. Lots of geese and Am. Widgeons, Mallards, GW Teals and a Lesser Scaup in the Lagoon and Am. Coots and Common Mergansers out on the lake. Few big gulls and a couple of small ones. 1 nice reassuring Glaucous-winged. Along the Lagoon didn't see the Longspurs today, but at least 9 Savanah Sparrows, 6 BC chickadees with a couple of juncos, song sparrows and 1 Am. Goldfinch. All at the East end of the Lagoon in the bushes just past the Boat Launch. Same place I saw the Longspurs yesterday. Then spotted a Horned Lark about half way along the spit toward the sandcastles. ;D Lifer. Thanks for the heads-up Janne. Now I just have to find that Vesper... Later spotted a Common Loon circling over the village. It did two wide loops, right up to the edge of the mountains, then came in for a landing just outside the log breakwater, with about a dozen gulls and about 10 seals looking on. The photo shows the rock breakwater in the distance. Took about an hour to walk around home after work. Lots of Mallards, Am. Widgeons, GW Teals, 7 Pintails and a Pied-billed Grebe. Yellow-rumped Warblers everywhere, but spotted 2 BTG Warblers at the back of the Island. Then along the slough, a BIG sound. A Greater Yellowlegs, then 2 more upstream =3. ;D Also at home a Nor. Harrier low over the Cheam Slough.
