On Monday between 6:30 and 7 Pm I observed about a dozen Horned Larks on the outer dyke of the Harrison Lagoon. Here's a fuzzy photo of one. A dog scared them into the Sand Castle area right after this. The light was too poor to get a clear shot. I also saw what I think was a Western Sandpiper hanging out with 3 Killdeer. Same problem with the photos as above. There was also an American Pipit and a Savannah Sparrow foraging around the fence blocking off the Sand Castles. The ducks sleeping far out the Lagoon may have been GW Teal and N. Shovelers but the light was too bad to be sure. Janne Perrin Harrison Hot Springs

Nicely done Janne! You're right, that's a Western Sandpiper. Your photo shows the nice row of rusty coloured feathers on his back. Nothing wrong with your photos as they show clearly what you saw and I enjoy seeing them!
Did you have any luck finding them Kev?
