The poorer weather has brought in a few more warblers than from last week. The trade off seems to be that there are less tanagers and vireos. Ruby-crowned Kinglets are in good numbers now. Today I saw the most Yellow-rumped Warblers of the fall. Next common were Black-throated Grey, followed by Orange-crowned Warblers. A lone Wilson's Warbler and a couple Common Yellowthroats rounded out the numbers. I have not seen a Yellow Warbler for a couple weeks now! That is very odd.
Lots of sparrows. Lincoln's Sparrows are still numerous. A half dozen juncos confirmed fall is well on its way. All the robins and waxwings I see are in flocks now.
Other interests was a Black-headed Grosbeak and a Hammond's Flycatcher near a Pacific-slope Flycatcher. An Osprey was still hunting over the river too. Fourteen Turkey Vultures were feeding on dead fish.
Highlight of the morning was a Eared Grebe out on the Fraser!
A good time of year. Never know what will show up!
