Greetings fellow birders. My wife, son, and I have moved away from our birdy backyard with mixed emotions on Friday. We have sold our house on the wetlands and are currently renting a place on Yale Road near Reeves Road. We have bought a building lot on the otherside of Cheam Wetlands and hope to build on it eventually (no hurry). I put up the feeders already on Friday night, but there are no trees/bushes around this house so there has been no activity yet! So far I have a backyard list of 5 birds Canada Goose Mallard Bald Eagle Northern Harrier European Starling (in the soffits) Lots of room for improvements! It is fairly open here so maybe the old corn field across the road will attract an Iceland Gull for Brent and Thor! It does have Mallards . Perhaps wetlander could send the odd Northern Saw-whet Owl my way! Dave Chilliwack, B.C.

I would if I could As a rental, I guess you don't want to put much money into shrubs etc. There is some cheap alternatives that will bring them in (My wife Marion is a pro gardener). Like you say, keep an eye on those Corn fields, you never know. ;D
