Thor, Ziff and myself met at Island 22 for a walk. It was fairly active the whole time we where there. A Cooper's Hawk scattered the Robins near the beginning of our hike. We got some good views of Black-throated Grey Warblers as well but it was pretty quiet warbler wise. One highlight was a Western Screech-owl that we heard calling at one point! We also spotted a Cassin's Vireo, Bank Swallow and about 14 Turkey Vultures as other highlights from the 39 species we recorded. A couple quick pictures. Warbling Vireo Chilled grasshopper (Im assuming 'chilled' as they usually are jumping everywhere) The Turkey Vultures Thanks for coming out. It was nice to meet you, Ziff!

Hi Gord.....I thought I saw you there yesterday! You were deep in conversation with someone by the horse corral so didn't interrupt you to say hi. We drove over to Island 22 in the afternoon, just because the it was the weekend and the dogs were upset they hadn't been anywhere. It was hot and my old Shih Tzu was about to collapse in the heat so didn't stay long. About the only birds we saw were a bunch of Black Cap Chickadees but didn't walk in the more interesting areas in case we met a horse.....our husky is rather intriqued with horses after making freinds with a couple up at good ole Tunkwa.

Hi Kathy! Sorry I didnt see you. Actually, I remember looking around during my visit with the park user and seeing a vehicle drive by that looked vaguely familiar. Now I know what that tickle was!
Welcome back from your trip!
