Not a bad owl list. Thanks Brent. Ive been watching the headlights of the car for one.
Adding Greater Scaup to the list. There are two females in Salish Pond. I had to confirm this morning from yesterday as they were sleeping. I was pretty sure they were Greater and not Lesser but it's tough to tell, especially when sleeping!

A little past half the month, time to take a look at the list.
Im sure we'll get a Ruby-crowned Kinglet before the end.
I noticed on the Backyard Count that Golden Eagle and Bushtit were reported for Chilliwack. A birder who isnt a member of the site??!?!? ;D Coveted member number 99 awaits the next new member!!!
Oh, got Mountain Chickadee in Sunshine Valley today. ;D

Gord, Dave -- for the list:
I had a Ruby-crowned Kinglet yesterday at Fishtrap Creek in Abbotsford.
You can also add the Red-throated Loon I found and photographed on Mill Lake in Abbotsford this afternoon

NICE on the Red-throated Loon!! Fantastic! Cant wait to see photos!
Speaking of loons, had a Common Loon at Island 22 recently but overlooked it!
Also, someone's going to have to head to the Vedder or Chehalis River and get one of the dozens of American Dippers that are splashing around!!

Great additions to the list, everyone! We are at 112 species, and our record is 113! (well, okay, a one month record...but still.....!!)

You can add Marsh Wren to the list Dave. (Wilband) And I think American Crow at Manning lodge. If I am not mistaken the Northwestern range ends at Hope with some overlapping. Perhaps someone could confirm that. The Crows at Manning appeared to be quite large. Here is a pix of something else at Wilband.

After examining my 'Greater Scaup' hens I have decided they're Lesser Scaup hens. I was able to see them sleeping and with raised wings which helps with the fieldmarks. An active scaup's headshape varies as it goes about diving and so forth. When sleeping with heads tucked one can get a better idea of the head shape. Also, while a little tougher a mark, these ones had not as much white going into the primaries from the secondaries in their wings. Oops! I need more scaup practice! Im sure we'll get a Rufous Hummingbird at Kathy's feeders tomorrow morning to bring it back up to 120.
