Hi all: Don't know how many Fraser Valley birders monitor bcintbird, but I read a report from Dick Cannings, who led a tour up towards Blackwall Meadows the other day. He reports seeing three species of Grouse on either side of the lookoff: Spruce, Sooty, and Dusky. I know this general area is supposed to represent a transition zone for the Sooty, and the Dusky, but, I and others, have looked for Dusky up there without success, to date. So, nice sightings for Dick and his group. He also reported Pine Grosbeak, and Townsend's Solitaire from the lookoff. Jack Delair just phoned me, and reported Wilson's Snipe from his farm by the airport. Cheers, Thor

A bunch of good birds, several 'misses' for August's list too. I would like to hunt down that Dusky Grouse one day as well. It's been a few years since I last saw a Spruce Grouse as well!
