Greetings fellow birders. I have been having fun working on breeding bird atlassing and point counts for my squares in Abbotsford. I believe I posted the sighting of the Western Kingbird earlier. Yesterday I checked a wetland/pond/grassland area just south of the south west corner of Kingroad and Lefeuvre Road (a reclaimed gravel pit?). I found Blue-winged Teal with young and two Eastern Kingbirds. Today I went there again and saw one of the Kingbirds but also Coot with young, a Pied-billed Grebe on a nest and an American Bittern flying and heard a Sora. Near the Abbotsford Airport land up against Columbia Rd (an area now in raspberries, between Huntingdon and King I heard and then saw a Chipping Sparrow. At Albert Dyck park I heard and found a House Wren. These point counts are paying off! Good birding all, I thought I'd post these now since I'm leaving for New Brunswick tomorrow. John Vooys

Good birds indeed!! Great finds! I need to get busy on my Atlas square. If that's not incentive, what is? Have fun in New Brunswick. Look forward to hearing about your trip.
