We left Chicken, Alaska today and I write this from Dawson City. We got a total of 80 birds in Alaska. Never did hit the ocean for pelagics except for a trip out on to Prince William Sound where we dipped on Horned Puffin. On my last entry I said I would try to get a picture of a charging grizzly. Not quite charging but they did have love in mind. We went 150 miles out of our way to find the Arctic Warbler. I am glad we did as the scenery on the Denali highway was outstanding. At the same place we found Grey-cheeked Thrush which we would have had a hard time identifying if it hadn't been singing. Denali Park was great for all big game and Willow Ptarmigan. The males were unmistakable in breeding plumage, unlike the female I showed you in northern BC. Thanks to everyone for comments. I only have internet sporadically so I can't reply individually. Trip total 170-Alaska 80-lifers 3-Yukon 74 and continuing tomorrow.

Fantastic reports and photos! That Arctic Warbler shot is outstanding. The sow and cub Griz is very nicely done as well. I like how the surroundings compliment the subjects.
Look forward the the next update!

Thanks again for the update, Len! The Arctic Warbler is an awesome bird to have an awesome picture of! I would love to see Willow Ptarmigan as well.
