Walking our back field this morning and got a big surprise. At first I spotted this big fledgling owl, then an Adult and another fledgling on a lower branch. Got Marion and my camera... Marion spotted a 3rd fledgling a little down from mom & fledge #2. 4 Great Horned Owls ;D ;D ;D ;D. 1 Adult (Mom?) and 3 fledglings. I haven't heard them in awhile... Gord suggested that I might hear something after they left their nests, but I never suspected I'd stumble across them. Also heard what I think is the "chBeck" of a Least Flycatcher. Will try to record the song tomorrow... cause the little #@*$ refuses to show itself.

"Wetlander " I enjoyed your owl shots. They almost seem to be looking right through you. Also, good work on finding the Least Flycatchers. I was looking for them the other day at the Wetlands in the tall Cottonwoods, but all was quiet, ( as far as they were concerned, anyway ). Cheers, Thor

Thanks, Thor. If your interested, follows Tuyttens over the dyke to Whorley Rd. Go down almost to the turnaround before the Private Property sign. This Flycatcher has been hanging out for a few days in the bush across the slough on the tip of our Island. It's an inaccessable area, and I've only heard, not seen it... tried from both on island and from Whorley Rd. I will keep trying...
