Was on a road trip to Hope for work and got to take some time for birding with Marion. Got to check out Sucker Creek. Beautiful day, not a ton of birds but still fun. At the mouth of the creek we spotted a Audubon's Yellow-rump and a Black-throat Grey Warbler. Listing on E-bird and the BTG Warbler comes up as rare. I see them every once and a while around our place, so what's up with that? Also at home today, a Chipping Sparrow. ;D Our first in a couple of years. Also, Also... A mature Bald Eagle (very large, probably female) was perched in a cottonwood and the Am. Kestrel hit her in the back, like a Chelios crosscheck, and chased her off. I think Gord must be right and the Kestrel is nesting. This is the second time I've see it chasing off a bigger bird (first time was a Red-tail), but this time was physical. Stopped in CHWK at Cliff's store and up-graded our optics with part of my income tax return (most goes to taxes & bills). Finally got Marion a decent pair of compacts and I spoiled my self and got one of his last pair of Celestron Regals. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Not sure either why Black-throated Grey Warbler would be listed as such on E-bird. Something that will be sorted out no doubt as more data is received.
Chelios crosscheck ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
