; First Mama Mallard with 8 ducklings this morning, plus first 2 fledgling Robins awkwardly trying to fly. One poor fledge tried to land on a wall, and crashed into it instead (ouch). Hardly any sparrows around, maybe busy at nests. Also... F.O.S. female Bullock's Orioles to join the males. F.O.S. female Wilson's Warblers, I've only seen males up to this point. PeeWees are here in numbers now. "Nature, tooth and claw"... Great show as a Kestrel harrassed a Red-tailed Hawk until it moved on. Haven't seen many raptors for awhile, but today had a few during the morning. Too many Cowbirds around... With new life comes preditors + paracites. So it goes. Moved on... Haven't seen a Yellow-rumped in days. Only 1 Tanager today.

With that Kestrel acting all tough one wonders if they are nesting somewhere nearby.
The Yellow-rumps are certainly down in numbers.
Speaking of robins, at Cheam Lake there are three fledged young ones that look to be almost two weeks out of the nest. That's an early start and in a cool spring to boot!
