First of the year: 4 Western Tanagers... 3 males and 1 female. A W.W. Peewee, a Bullock's Oriole and a Nashville Warbler. ;D Also a Black-throated Grey and an Orange-crowned. All were being chased around by Yellow-rumps. And all were in our Walnut tree this afternoon.

How exciting! We also were overjoyed to have a Western Tanager visit us on the 14tht in Chilliwack, off Ashwell Rd. Only other time we've seen them was at Hougan Park (Exit 99) and at the Blue Heron Reserve. They are so gorgeous. Also enjoying the Evening Grosbeaks and Black-Headed Grosbeaks which are in abundance this year.
