You're right! Sorry! A good sighting! Do you have a box or something they might want to nest in? Always worth a try.

I had a new yard bird the other day...a Bullock's Oriole. Would have reported it sooner, but my internet access has been down.

Terri, great to have you back! Those orioles are fantastic. I bet your yard would be excellent for an oriole feeder! (if so, I eagerly await the photos! ) Jason, thanks for filling in the holes. The 'common' ones sometimes get overlooked. I see American Dipper is absent. I havnt seen one yet but then I know I could easily count 25 if I spent a little time on the Vedder River. Dad reported a Harlequin Duck today. Two drakes and a hen on the upper Chilliwack River. Im sure he saw a Dipper too but he didnt mention it and I didnt ask... ;D

With the crappy weather not much happening on the warbler front but... Ruffed Grouse today along Bear Mtn. behind the Art Gallery in Harrison. Also a Red-breasted Sapsucker, about 60 Vaux Swifts flying over and one lonely little Junco. PS. Yes Gord, I've got a box for the Barn Owl, but haven't got it up yet. You've reminded me and I'll try this weekend.

Wow! I actually get to add something to the May bird list challenge! That's quite exciting for me. Drum roll please... Please add Green Heron! ;D ;D ;D It was in our backyard today! This is either the second or third time it has been in our backyard in the five years we've lived here. I also saw it one year in Leary Park. Here's some pics of it: Jeff Overduin

Wow, Jeff! Is that 3 Herons in one tree or 1 Heron in 3 pictures?? You had me do the triple take there ;D.
Great Yard bird and great addition to the May list!

Nice yard bird, Jeff!! I was thinking three for a second as well!
Eastern Kingbirds have arrived at Cheam Lake Wetlands. There were two, probably just arrived during the nice weather over the weekend, but are wasting no time kicking up a fuss and taking over the best flycatching perches.

We saw an American Wigeon at Sardis Park today. That article on the Sapsucker eating the snail was very interesting Gord. We saw a Hairy Woodpecker feeding its young what appeared to be snails out of the shell the other day and we were wondering about that, now we can believe that it really cracked the shells of snails and got snails for the young in the nest.
