I know everyone has been seeing Least Sandpipers....and we've got them over here too, in fact we have quite a few shorebirds. Greater Yellow legs continue and Killdeer of course...realized that the reason we are seeing so many at this time of the year is because we have so much SHORE. Went back on my Kathy's Korner on the FVBEF website to compare and the water has never been this low at this time of the year before....at least as long as I've been keeping track of it. a fairly close shot of a couple of the Least Sandpipers Took this yesterday morning at the 'log bay'....I thought there were about 20 in that particular flock (there was a larger group further up) but when I downloaded and started counting....I think I can see 26 in this particular photo. Hi Kathy, Same at our place by the river in Agassiz. The sloughs are very low, and we are getting Least Sandpipers for the first time.
