I got out in between the rain. A Marsh Wren was in the cattails on the way to the viewing platform. I was trying to get a visual, and a bird landed on a piece of wood. It turned out to be a Swamp Sparrow. Typically, I hear them first before I see them. They are one of my favorite sparrows. Unfortunately, there were two dead Cackling Geese, and another two didn't look healthy. I heard two Evening Grosbeaks fly over and no Siskins.
A quick drive through East Chilliwack resulted in a few gulls. I didn't see the Franklin's. There is still a lot of water around but less than last weekend. Good numbers of Shovlers. On Banford, there were three Snow Geese and one White-fronted Goose.
