First My humour, Gord, I can't find any Swamp Sparrows at the airport, despite being at the airport nearly daily. Maybe My skill level.
There has been a lot of sparrows at the airport, but the last two days I only found a single sparrow, a White-throated Sparrow.
The water birds have been increasing on Kawkawa Lake. There has been up to nine Western Grebe on the Lake for the past week.
Bufflehead showed up 3 days ago, Coots about a week ago, today there were both Scaup, 7 Western and 6 Pied-billed Grebe, Ring-necked Duck, Barrow's Goldeneye, American Wigeon, Green-winged Teal.
At Starret's Pond (Hope Sewage) today there was a lone Juvenile Snow Goose, 9 adult Hooded Merganser, Ring-necked Duck, Bufflehead and RC Kinglets and lots of Junco.

Ken, they often are quite skulky. I think we go past them easily enough unless they call which is how I usually first detect them. They sound very similar to White-throated Sparrow and I try to see them which is sometimes a chore. There looks to be a lot of food at the west end in the weeds so hanging out there for a bit should hear them call to know where to focus.
Good to hear the updates. Kawkawa is always worth a look. The Hope Sewage and surround also a good site for a walk and lots to see.

Ken, thanks for the update. I always wonder what's being seen in Hope. Good time up there to see migrating waterfowl.
