Got a fairly early start at Harrison. Sure is getting darker in the morning. The lake itself was quiet except for a couple of Common Loons, 3 Mergansers, and one out of place Pied-billed Grebe. Around the lagoon were at least three Vesper Sparrows. Had 14 WC Sparrows as well. On the northeast side was a flock of warblers. Mostly Yellow-rumped but also had 2 Orange-crowned. The lagoon only had four Wigeons on it.
A Red-necked Grebe was at Cheam. Nice to see 11 Ring-necked Ducks and a relatively large flock of Wigeons. I counted 13 Towhees there. There were at least 8 in a flock around the loop trail and a few others scattered around the park. I checked, and it was my highest count for Cheam. Must be migrants going through? There was a nice mixed flock just past the start of the loop trail. Had my first RC Kinglet of the fall. Also present were 6 Warbling Vireos, a few OC Warblers, Black-throated Gray Warblers, and one Wilson's and Yellow. Surprisingly, no Yellow-rumps.
While I was out biking in the afternoon I encountered a large flock of WC Sparrows and among them was one Vesper Sparrow.
