I was up on Thursday. The road was in much better shape than last year with the couple really sketchy areas much improved. Snow is off the trail as well.
I didn’t go past Spoon Lake but did see a Chipping Sparrow, American Pipit doing flight song and quite a few Vaux’s Swift. They’re vocal and busy flying around quite low; I suspect they’re nesting somewhere nearby. There were also several of the slate-coloured Fox Sparrows which is the high altitude specialty for here.
One black bear was seen on the slope.
