Went to Manning today. We walked from the Strawberry Flats parking lot along the road to the Ski Area. It was fairly active with Hermit Thrush and Townsend's Warblers singing and Sooty Grouse hooting. One surprise was a Nashville Warbler about 1.6km from the parking lot. A pair of Cassin's Finch were feeding at the ski area. Cassin's Finch at Manning Park--Gibson Pass Evening Grosbeaks were here as well Evening Grosbeak at Manning Park--Gibson Pass After, we walked around Lightning Lake. There was a mother Barrow's Goldeneye and 10 young. It was neat watching the young dive. Barrow's Goldeneye at Manning Park--Lightning Lake We saw five deer but no bears. Always enjoyable to go to Manning.

Great pictures, Chris. That Cassin's Finch is a really nice one. Not often they down low for a photo. I don't think I've gotten Nashville Warbler there before myself. Nice find. Cute little goldeneye.
We're hoping for a Family trip there ourselves soon too
