I've had a chance to bird but not much to share of late. Hope Airport late last week was good. Chipping Sparrows showed up. There were seven in one spot; I managed four in one photo. _0246145 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr _0246198 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr An Olive-sided Flycatcher showing the white patch on its back _0246122 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr There were three Western Kingbirds together _0246130 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Dusky Flycatcher continue to be seen. I also ran into two at Sardis Pond Friday evening. _0246204 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Western Wood Pewee were all over _0246155 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr A male and female Barn Swallow _0246149 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Over at the sewage plant was a River Otter. It looks like it has some white fur maybe leucistic? It was catching sculpin and doing a pretty good job of it too as I saw it come up with five in as many minutes _0246179 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr _0246187 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Over at Harrison Lake was a first summer Boneaparte's Gull _0246230 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr An oddly plumaged female Lesser Scaup. Perhaps melanistic? The wing pattern looked spot on for a Lesser. _0246240 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr _0246249 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Out on the lake were some Red-breasted Mergansers that were close enough for a poor photo _0246254 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr I did a morning walk at Jesperson Dyke. This young Tundra Swan was in the pond with some getting-late American Wigeon _0246260 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Turkey Vulture were numerous _0246263 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr There were two singing House Wrens (looks like it's shaping up to be an above average year for them) and some Black Swift overhead.
