We went for a family walk between the showers and spent a few minuets on some birding. At the feeders we saw three White-throated Sparrows in a tree. They were eating the buds. A couple juncos were doing this too. We saw two more making five White-throated Sparrows. _0245063 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Nice and fresh plumage _0245130 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr A leucistic Dark-eyed Junco _0245070 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Young Golden-crowned Sparrow growing in breeding colours _0245056 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr A shower came but happily we were near the shelter so we sat and enjoyed what there was to see until the shower passed. This Pied-billed Grebe was fishing near us. _0245091 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Lots of Robins in a large loose flock were there with a few Varied Thrush mixed in. A peaceful bit of birding and enjoying nature. Earlier in the day we saw two Townsend's Solitaire in Columbia Valley. Nice to see they've arrived.
