Yesterday, at the Heron Reserve some birds were quite vocal. Bewick'sand Pacific Wrens were singing frequently. A couple of Downy Woodpeckers were drumming and I saw 8 Herons which is the most I have had there. None of their nest yet though.
On Gibson Rd was a Rough-legged Hawk. Not a stellar winter for them in our area, but I wouldn't be surprised if more stayed north of us due to the lack of snow. There was a large flock of Wigeons with one Eurasian present.
Today at Harrison, five swans were flying north over the lake and likely making the journey to their breeding grounds. One male Redhead was present in the lagoon.
At Cheam Wetlands, I was very surprised to see two Ruddy Ducks. Song Sparrows and Towhees were singing and some juncos as well.
Definitely more Robins around compared to a few weeks ago.
