We spent the last couple of days on Sumas Prairie looking for the Golden Eagle (never found it). We did find a treasure trove of waterfowl in the flooded fields. We spent time with the large flock of snow geese that have been on either side of Fadden Road west of Vye Road. Yesterday, the flock was grazing quite close to Fadden, and we managed to view what I thought was a Snow X Canada goose hybrid. I have since been corrected (thanks Chris) and it turns out there were a couple of Blue Morph colour variants. Might be worth checking out. I suspect the flock will be hanging around for a few days. Nice ones! They're not overly common. I've only seen a handful myself over the years.

A new one for me. I didn't know what I was looking at in the moment. In hindsight I think I was quite lucky. While reviewing pictures at day's end I realized I even managed to captured two morphs in one photo. Always a good day when out birding.
