It's that time of year where I get to be in awe of everyone's photos! Mine to come. Stick to the rules and only choose three though!!

I liked this Steller's jay portrait - I often find them hard to get decent photos of! In the fall, Chris and I went to Manning with hopes of me getting my lifer spruce grouse. It happened to be one of the first birds we saw that day on the side of the road up to Strawberry Flats: In October, I stumbled across a barred owl at my home in Abbotsford - always a pleasant surprise!

Bentley, fantastic capture of the pigeons! Well done! I like how they are interacting.
Randy, the Barred Owl is great.
I'll get some together soon.

This year was a bit of a challenge for me as I needed cataract surgery; this fall I finally let Dr. Randy Walker help me out and my vision is better than it has been for years.(Thank you Randy!) I did get out birding frequently and I got to enjoy being out and I saw lots of interesting birds doing interesting bird things. I have always had a thing for woodpeckers and these Northern Flickers caught my eye. Northern Flickers by Nick, on Flickr I grew up out near White Rock and spent lots of time on the beach, but I do not remember ever seeing Double-crested Cormorants along The Pier like this one feeding. Breakfast! by Nick, on Flickr Every year I spend lots of time trying to photograph the Bald Eagles at the salmon run on the Harrison River. This year the water was extremely low, which limited the action I got to see but there were a couple good days this fall. Bald Eagle Awesomeness by Nick, on Flickr

Len, great photos. One of the better shots of the Pinyon Jay I have seen. Most seem to be where the bird's back is turned.
