The little patch of habitat in Chilliwack near the airport continues to have some interesting sights. Orange-crowned and a Yellow-rumped Warbler were here today. A Common Redpoll flew in and while I was looking at it I noticed a raptor soaring beyond it. The dihedral wings had me thinking possible Turkey Vulture until I saw it through the binoculars. It had just finished an argument with a Brown-headed Cowbird. This was on Reeves Road in Rosedale at the south end where it straightens if you come off of Yale Road. _0233076 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr Not bad for a quick bit of birding. The sunshine was a real treat too.

We checked on the blackbird this morning before the snow. Surprisingly we didn't see it despite the flock feeding in the field quite close to us allowing for excellent views. I felt the flock was similar size to yesterday but it is hard to tell as yesterday I just saw them in a tree and it was hard to gauge it.
