Got a few times today despite the rain. In the morning, I did a trip through Sumas Prairie. Good tally of raptors. Had 6 Red-tailed Hawks, at least 3 likely four Kestrels, 2 Cooper's Hawks, and one Merlin. I've been keeping a close eye out for Rough-legged Hawks but haven't seen one yet. I did see around 2500 Snow Geese off of Bowman Rd. Early in the afternoon, while doing some work, I spotted two Pine Grosbeaks from the yard. Joining them were 8 Evening Grosbeaks. Pine Grosbeak at YARD After the rain cleared, I did a walk at Island 22. As I parked I remembered about the Glaucous Gull. Haven't seen one in 10+ years so I decided to take a look. It was hanging out on the river bar relatively far out but still had decent views. Sure stands out compared to the Glaucous-winged Gulls. Did have two Chestnut-backed Chickadees there which I often don't get.
