On the Sumas Prairie this morning along I think it was Dixon heading north and I looked over and saw what I thought was a Kestrel at first. I stopped and shot through the open passenger window. The sun was shining at me, and I have some light sensitivity after my recent cataract surgery, so I really did not want to look that way for long. Later on, when I got home, I looked at the images and I was puzzled. It was not an American Kestrel; it did not seem right for a Peregrine but maybe a young Prairie Falcon? Thoughts please. Thank you for that, it makes sense as I do remember it seemed too small to be a bigger raptor.
