Midday I went for a short walk at Browne Creek Wetlands in Yarrow. The walk started out quietly with two smaller flocks of Pine Siskins in Red Alders. Right were I stopped and started back there was a large flock of about 80 also feeding in alders. For sure we are in a Pine Siskin year. Towards the end of my walk I came across a good-sized flock of chickadees and the likes which included an easy 10 Ruby-crowned Kinglets, a Wilson's Warbler and Myrtle Yellow-rumped Warbler. The last two Yellow-rumped Warblers I've seen have both been the Myrtle variety. _0232094 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr _0232102 by Geordie LaForge, on Flickr

I was there a little bit earlier and I was pleased to come across a small flock of Pine Siskins, obviously they were waiting for you to arrive to show their numbers. It was surprisingly quiet, until I got further from the river and all the people fishing, but not a lot of birds even then.
