We've had a visitor from the Interior the last few weeks. I've seen them along Bear Mtn. in Harrison, but never in Agassiz. Columbia Ground Squirrel, I believe. Nice treat to make up for the sneaky Black Phoebe hiding from me... DSC01792 by Kevin Jones, on Flickr

Nice one!
I think this may be a Douglas' squirrel. I've had one hanging around my place for the last month or two as well. Nice to have a native squirrel species around for once!!

A re-education, from childhood we called them red squirrels, actually Douglas squirrel. We also have one in our yard, it is all red though not the olive back.
