Hi Fraser Valley Birders: Hope it's okay to place an out-of-town birding trip plan here. If you read bcintbird, you will see that Russell Cannings is planning a gull survey for the Okanagan Valley this Saturday. The idea is to have a number of birders at different sites through the valley at, more, or less, the same time to survey the gull population, and, also to see if anything unusual shows up. I plan to use this opportunity to look for the Lesser Black Backed Gull, which has been reported in the Okanagan, from Westbank to Penticton over the last week or so. I plan to be in Westbank by 7:30 on Saturday morning; ( leaving Hope at 4:30 ). If the gull is there, great; if not, I will be in phone contact with Russell, Don Cecile, and Mac Placido, and if they have located it, I will drive to that location. I'll survey the rest of gull population too to add to the data base. If anyone is crazy enough to want to go, I have room in my Pathfinder for a couple of passengers. The weather will have something to do with these plans, and right now, I see the forecast for Saturday is showers, with fairly mild temps. You can contact by e-mail should you wish to go. Cheers, Thor
Thor Manson Hope, B.C.

Thor, no problem placing a birding trip plan here. Wish I could come. Hope someone's jumped on this chance to go. Ill try and not find any Iceland or Black-backed Gulls while you're gone.
