I made a detour early this afternoon through Sumas Praire while I was heading to Boundary Bay. On the turf farm, north of No. 5 Rd were 5 Baird's, 1 Pectoral, and 2 Least Sandpipers. Baird's seem to like the turf farms. Also had a high count of 57 Killdeer. Most I have seen in the Fraser Valley. 100+ Barn Swallows with a few Violet-green and Bank mixed in.
That turf farm has good habitat for shorebirds so worth checking out if in the area. Surprisingly, they can be hard to spot initially.
