In the last two weeks of June my family and I took a trip to PEI followed by a couple days in Cape Breton, then we took the ferry to Newfoundland, where we spent about 5 days as well. It was a fantastic trip!
I did very little birding but I did manage to sneak in a bit here and there.
In PEI we were staying at an AirBnb west of Charlottetown. It had a large property bounded by spruce and pine trees. I was surprised to hear boreal chickadees calling. I managed to get a couple photos of one with some food for young ones:

I did not do much birding the rest of the time in PEI. From Cape Breton we took an overnight ferry from Sydney to Argentia. I hung out on the deck the first evening for an hour in open water and had no species. I got up and spent an hour in the morning as well while we were approaching Newfoundland and there were a few species flying by - kittiwakes, terns, murres, and a couple sooty shearwaters.

In St. John's I went birding one morning on my own for a couple hours. I stopped by Memorial University where a pink-footed goose has been hanging out:

There was also a Eurasian wigeon here:

And a common tern was flying through the fog:

I then went to Long Pond, which is a local urban lake with trails around it. I had 22 species here.

My final birding experience was a puffin tour for which I will create a separate thread as there are quite a few photos.
