Sardis pond at 1:00 pm. Still hanging around with what looks like the same group of cackling geese. Stayed about an hour. Flew west with group

Day 5 of the “it will likely leave tonight” Ross’s Goose. Saw it on Sumas Central this morning at 7am. It was in the field off Sumas Central / Evans Road late this evening so likely will be around in the morning again.

Bright and early this morning it was at Sumas Central fields again. They are plowing the fields at Central Sumas today so we headed to Sardis and found the Ross's Goose. We were there at 1PM. lenjellicoe.zenfolio.com/p241939102/e6ce45ccd][/url]

Len, I saw that as well. I'm not sure they'll find that field to their liking now that the rye is ploughed under. I saw it at the pond up to 6:30.

Arrived about 6:30 a.m. this morning and no sign of the Ross's Goose, checked back about an hour later and still no sign and came back a little over an hour and half later and no sign of it. At the last visit there were 7 Minima Cackling Geese and one Taverner's Cackling Goose hanging out at the north end of the pond and the parks crew were just starting to cut grass so I left. I did check over on Sumas Central and the fields were being plowed and the only birds were a lot of crows and one gull. I did see one of the "white" crows for a bit on the north end of the park.

Like Nick, I did not see it either. There were a couple Canada Geese coming out of the field on Sumas Central but no Cackler's. This evening at Sardis Pond nor the fields at Sumas Central had the goose either.

I saw this goose at Wrights Beach in Penticton, right by the shore on Wed, May 10. It appeared to be alone. It matched the one I photographed at Sardis Park when it was there. It stay only a few hours, too late in the evening for photo. It was alone and was gone in the morning and have not seen since. Interesting that there was also a reported sighting in Creston Valley on May 5.
