I had a couple of new yard birds this week. While I was BBQing all the birds flushed, I didn't see anything but then I heard ? what turned out to be a Peregrine, now perched above in a spruce.
This morning I had a Meadowlark on the backyard lawn, I managed to get outside with the camera but it kept going around the raised beds. While I was stalking it I heard something I had never heard, I got My phone out and opened Merlin Sound ID. Each time it called I got Meadowlark, it was coming from outside our yard. I have heard them singing on the Prairie, but have never heard a call before.
