I actually had a dream last night that a Varied Thrush in my tree was my first bird of 2023, which would have been a good one! However, I just saw my first bird and it was an American Crow

Funny, juncos were a close second and immediately followed by a varied Thrush! My dream was close!

The first bird I saw this morning was a confused looking Varied Thrush. Possibly got lost on the way. Klaus

Happy New Year everyone! My first bird was a Bald Eagle. Saw silhouette flying just shortly after midnight. I am pretty sure it was spooked out of the trees from the nearby fireworks.
