My family and I went to Florida on Remembrance Day for 2 weeks. The first week was spent in Orlando at theme parks so my birding was limited to logging a few incidentals and flyovers. For the second week we headed to St. Pete Beach on the gulf coast and met up with my family, including my brother, who is a birder. We managed to get out a couple mornings for some birding.
The first day we went out the weather was quite cool and windy (about 12 degrees only) so bird activity was fairly limited. We went to Boyd Hill Nature Park & Lake Maggiore in St. Petersburg.
Anhingas are very common in the area:

Loggerhead Shrikes are also common, even perching on wires within the city:

Palm Warblers are absolutely everywhere and are one of the most common birds:

A little creek in the trees at the wetland seemed to be a reliable place to find Limpkin:

And here's a young Little Blue Heron:

We went back there a couple days later when the weather was a bit nicer to take our kids to see some alligators. We saw a couple large ones in the distance but these ones were very near the boardwalk:
And some more bird photos:

More to come in part II!
