I booked Reifel a few days ago and before my visit there, I made a few quick stops. My first stop was White Rock. Some fog and clouds made it a bit darker than I expected. Good numbers of waterfowl passed the pier. Black SPit had good numbers of dabbling ducks. Some I couldn't make out due to low-level fog.
As usual, Reifel was quite birdy. Tallied 55 species in just over two hours. An Avocet has been hanging around. First one outside of the Peace region

Mallards always pose nicely at Reifel

A lot of Dowitchers were present. I quickly got a photo of this one before it took off. It had just landed.

After Reifel I went to Brunswick and it was fairly quiet there.
Next, I stopped in Ladner Harbour Park. When I was checking Fantasy Birding yesterday, I noticed an Acorn Woodpecker had been seen there.
I lucked out and got it. First time seeing one since the one in Abby around 2010/2011. Also saw a Scrub Jay. There has been a high count of 5 there!
The Ferry terminal was next. I parked and walked along the east side and then went to the pullout.
I had a count of 27 Oystercatchers. Most I have seen here although I don't visit that often

Finally, I stopped at 104th Boundary Bay.
I was surprised to see so many Cackling Geese. I don't recall seeing that many in the Metro Van area. I thought I heard a White-fronted calling among the flock and after a few minutes of scanning a few geese took off and the White-fronted was among them. Easier to pick out.
Here is the trip report if interested. I thought I did a lot of walking today so I checked how many steps I did and I managed just over 28,000.
