A local photographer posted pictures of A California Scrub Jay today on "Hope BC In Pictures." Facebook page. I went looking for it at 7 tonight when I saw the post, no luck. It was seen on Douglas St. between 5th & 6th ave, yesterday, Tuesday.

That might be the furthest east for BC! Nice one, Ken. The previous was one from a few years back now that Kathy had at her feeders in Harrison Mills.

Found the CASJ this morning, parking at the South end of the Rotary Nature Trail I could hear a bird sounding similar to the ebird CASJ sound files I have been listening to. It was in heavy cover and I could not locate it for a long while. Tried Merlin Sound, got good wave forms showing up, but it did not give any suggestions as to what it might be. It did show itself eventually, long enough to get an identification.

Following up on Ken's report, here are some photos taken today (Sept 27) of the California Scrub-Jay here in Hope. I'd been seeing the Facebook reports of this bird around Hope and was excited to finally hear it and then see it!
