At Island 22 this afternoon while watching a redstart, a bright vireo caught my eye. The yellow was bright and I thought it was a warbler at first, but then I noticed it was a vireo! It had a different shape and a shorter tail than the Warbling Vireo that I'm used to. Of course the most eye-catching part was how bright it was which was what caught my eye at first. The pics do a horrible job of showing it, but it appeared to be yellow throughout, including the breast and throat.
It was hanging out with chickadees in the Triangle area, and I only saw it for a minute before a truck came and everything scattered, then I couldn't relocate it.
I got a couple terrible pictures
A nice one, the 4th record for the area, and the 4th record for Island 22 as well. I believe the last one was in September 2013 or so.

Jon, Ben and I tried for it this morning. It was a bit windier than necessary. When I left it felt like more birds were showing up. We had a redstart, flock of Black Swift and Dusky Flycatcher down the west dyke.
