100% Hammonds. That Dusky in our yard was a tad longer primary individual but otherwise was pretty good. It was nice, all the same, to have had it make the "whit" call note a few times as we're always learning and if that bird went "peek!" then I might have to start all over again on these flycatchers. It was a nice bird to study. I landed in the tree 15 feet away from the BBQ a couple times. A real treat and also satisfying to see it (and of course all the other birds) using our plantings.
Back to this bird, this one has a big head look, a peg for a beak (if you got a view underneath it would be fairly narrow too) and the long primaries making for a short-tailed appearance. Nice one thanks for sharing a great learning piece!
