Since I don't have any pictures of Sage Thrasher (although I did hear it sing - in fact, its song went on and on and on ), I will share the Chukar experience. I sat for 20 minutes on a large rock at the bottom of the Vaseux Cliffs hearing the distinct clucking of Chukar, before I finally had a brief view Then it just got better.....a entire family appeared! Then I had a nice adult pose about 100 feet away.... One of the adults starting calling and calling and calling from somewhere on the cliffs. It is like hunting for a needle in a haystack but eventually got far distant views and a picture of the adult informing why they are named Chu-KAR!! An experience to remember..... Dave

Awesome pictures, Dave. As they say--patience is a virtue! I have seen many many Chukars,, however none as close as you were! I am quite envious of your views, trip--soon, soon, I want to plan a trip devoted solely to birding--Thank you for the inspiration---Al
