I birded early this morning at Cheam Lake Wetlands. (and no, I didn't go because Dave had a Redhead there yesterday, but it did make me more eager to get up early )
I got to the park a bit later than I'd hoped. Nevertheless, it was a productive visit. Starting with the viewing [island] platform, on the way there I managed to pick up Dave's Redhead, various common ducks, Bullock's Oriole, Black-headed Grosbeak, and a nice flock of Yellow-rumped, and Wilson's Warblers. From the platform, a pair of Blue-winged Teal flushed from nearby flying all the way to the other side of the lake.
Scoping the ducks there were 5 Cinnamon Teal, a number of Gadwall, and a single Lesser Scaup with the Ring-necked Ducks.
More interesting was 5 Bank Swallows. IIRC there were larger numbers (8+) of these birds last year at the lake, so perhaps they'll stay to nest (?) again. I then did the loop trail.
Other birds of interest were my FOY Yellow Warbler, Western Tanager (making its per-ter-ic call), and Cassin's Vireo (also heard only).
After spending approximately 1.5 hrs there, I ended up with 51 species, which I was quite pleased with. Not bad for a morning walk before work

Sounds like a great morning! I'm in the area for a few days and hoping to get there if possible, I used to go there all the time as a child. I live in Kamloops now so to me the Black-throated Gray warbler is more interesting than the redhead or the oriole which are fairly common there
