Just a heads up to all that an Indigo Bunting was found at Colony Farm RP this eveing.
The bird was found on the north (left) side of Colony Farm Rd. which is the eastern etrance to the park. Just after crossing the RR tracks there is a parking area on your left. The bird was 100m or so along the trail leading north from this parking area.

Excellent bird Larry! Thanks for sharing. Too bad I have to work this weekend or I might have considered going for a ride and to bird the Farm once again AND to get a great BC species!

An important correction to my instructions. Colony Farm Rd. is the WESTERN entrance to the park. The bird was seen by many birders this morning and was still showing well when I left at around 11:00.
It is believed it may be nesting with a female Lazuli so it may be around for many more to see.
The bird is 100m or so along the trail and for the most part is singing in fairly exposed perches on the left side of the trail. Just look for the congregation of birders on the trail.

Fraser Valley Birders: By the time I got there a 2:30 p.m., Tom Shermer was the only other birder there. He had seen the bird, but not in the last 45 minutes, and was stymied in his chance to get a good photo. I started walking up the trail, and found the bird in about 20 minutes. It perched on both sides of the trail, where the trail starts to veer away from the power line. Naturally, I didn't bring my camera, and this beauty was perched with full sun on, about 1.5 metres away!! As Larry says, it is singing on territory, so will probably stick for a awhile. Good luck to those that go for it. Thor

Wow, nice pictures Jeff! Was that a life bird for you? Glad you saw the bird as well, Thor. Thanks for sharing, Larry. If I didn't work today......
Starting Monday, I am going to zip into the interior for just a few days on a family camping trip, with some birding of course. I will let you all know how things go later next week.
Have fun birding,
Dave

Nice work Jeff! Glad you got to see it.
Sounds like it is still there and should be reliable for those who still want to see it. Mac, a great BC bird for you!
