While up fishing in the Yale area yesterday I saw a green heron fly over and alight in a willow tree. When I reached for the video camera behind me it flew off before I could get some footage.
He came by a couple of other times but too quick for a picture.
I have seen them twice before on the Vedder River a few years ago. Not sure how rare a sighting they are especially up in the Fraser Canyon. I will watch for him on my next trip and hope for some pictures and video

Ive never seen them up in the Canyon myself either. I might venture to say they're uncommon there as they seem to prefer quiet ponds and slower moving water.
