This bluebird has me wondering. What do you think-is it a Western? It appears to have a growth over the nostrils?  |

Looks like a Mountain Bluebird to me. Note the lack of any very prominent rufous colouring on the flank and chest, and the presence of a white eye-ring is a good field mark for Mountain Bluebird.

Agree with Mountain.
A western should show a pretty good distinction between the breast and throat whereas your bird has no distinction.
A western will show an eye ring too though, so that's not distinctive.
