I found this duck in Everett, Washington. I am seriously considering Pintail X Mallard hybrid because of the plumage. However, it is lacking any hint of a Pintail's sharp tail, and while photos I have found of these hybrids have some more reddish hues than either pure species, the red seems excessive on this individual. I am wondering if this is simply a discoloured Mallard. Thoughts?

To me it looks like either an escaped domestic Mallard or a domestic x wild hybrid. There was a similar looking duck seen here 47.7845834,-122.3263574 on Feb 7 this year. macaulaylibrary.org/asset/305365661

Looks to be a domestic "bibbed" mallard.
