Earlier this week, I went for a drive in the valley to see what it was like, and if there were any birds around. I found a large flock of Snow Geese on Angus Campbell Rd and took some pictures of them to see if there was any blue morphs among them. DSCF8434 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr DSCF8435 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr DSCF8436 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr Nothing seemed any different or unusual until I looked at my last picture of the far right of the large flock: DSCF8437 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr What is that blue/black goose just left of center? I seems a bit different from what I might expect of a blue morph. I don't believe it is a hybrid, and it was the only goose in the flock that I saw that was different. Can you please help ID. Thanks, Klaus

From the details in the photo, I don't see a reason to doubt it being a blue-morph.

Blue morph it is. It was the only one in a large flock of Snow Geese that was any different. Sometimes it pays to search a large flock for the rare birds, and not look at, oh, just some more snowys and keep on driving bye. Too bad I don't get another tick on my list for that. Oh well, another day. Thanks Jon. Klaus
