The last few years I have seen a good number of gadwalls feeding in the slough on the way to the Chehalis fish hatchery. ( just past the golf course) I imagine they are feeding on the decaying fish carcasses.
I am wondering if anyone has seen gadwalls in any other part of the Valley.
Also you have a nice forum site here, good luck with it. I hope it grows and flourishes in the future.

Havnt seen too many this year even though a rep from Duck's Unlimited told me they had a very good summer with a lot of successful nests. Often do see them on the way to the Chehalis too each winter.
I have seen a good number of northern pintails though. Either there's more this year or a bunch of the migrants hung around instead of going south and to the coast like they usually do.
And welcome to the site!!! ;D

There are usually good numbers of Gadwall in the ponds along Fishtrap Creek park on the west side of urban Abbotsford. They must be feeding on something else there, as there are no fish carcasses in that area.
Always nice to see them.
