I was at my brothers place in Sechelt on the weekend and saw some birds I did not recognize. DSCF8387 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr Are there three different kinds, or just male and female of the same species. Also, the two in front, one on right side and one in the middle front. seem different. DSCF8388 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr The ones in front seem to have white edging to the feathers that the others don't. Some seem dark chocolate color and some lighter brown. Either way, I don't know what they are, so please help ID. Thanks, Klaus

A quick look to me looks like mainly black turnstones with a few surfbirds. Nice photo!

Well, I'm seeing mostly Surfbirds, and 2 Black Turnstone (the closer 2 - middle and right) But I may be missing some as the details of some are hard to see

Thanks for the ID Jon and Randy. Both are lifers for me. ;-) Here are some other photos of them. DSCF8343 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr DSCF8348 by Klaus Molthagen, on Flickr They did not stay in place for very long, suddenly taking off and circling around, calling, to land again in the same place. Almost like they were calling in help to move these big stones that never moved. Or not. ;-) Klaus
